Background to the study

The word "movers" is whence we get the English word "motivation," which literally translates to "to move." According to Lang (2020), motivation is the act of providing individuals with enticements that cause them to behave in a certain manner that was previously predicted. There are two sources of motivation, which are extrinsic and internal, respectively. The act of doing something not for the act itself but for the results that follow it is an example of external motivation. These implications include things like pay, profitability, and the atmosphere of the workplace. Money and promotions from superiors and peers in the workplace are two examples of the kinds of external perks that may be awarded by a company (Pinder, 2022). The behavior that a person displays as a direct consequence of the pleasurable feelings that are intrinsically related with the conduct itself is an example of intrinsic motivation (Akanbi, 2020).

These experiences are a direct result of the drive that is inherent to the nature of the employment itself. Brown, Barbara B. (2019) Receiving positive acknowledgement, feeling appreciative, gaining a sense of success, and passing a test are all examples of the kind of motivation known as intrinsic motivation. M. B. Brown and colleagues (2019) Employees need to be motivated to understand why they perform the work that they do. This contributes to solving the issue of why workers go to work and do a good job at it. The primary responsibility of the manager is to create and preserve an environment in which workers are able to effectively carry out their jobs and contribute to the achievement of organizational objectives. This environment must be provided to employees (London, M., & Bray, D. W, 2018).

Distinct employees have various strengths and different things that drive them (Cole, G.1997). One of the methods that the management uses to raise the number of employees who are able to effectively administer their jobs is to instill a sense of motivation in the workforce (Cherian, & Jacob, 2018). The production of an employee is somewhat determined by his or her capabilities. His degree of motivation is the other component that determines the outcome. It is the duty of the manager of human resources to ensure that there is job commitment in the workplace, and the only way to ensure that there is job commitment is to motivate employees.

People are more likely to be motivated in situations where they have the opportunity to participate, where they have a sense of achievement and are recognized for their efforts, where there is consistent communication, and where there are opportunities to advance their career and their level of expertise. It is essential to have motivation in order to have better performance, and as a result, it is essential to identify what drives the employees in order to have better performance. Demirel, Y. et al (2020) The purpose of this research was to investigate the influence that employees' motivation has on their output, and a case study of private banks in the Kurdistan Regional Government was chosen for the study (Saraih& sultan, 2018).
